Dating back to the 18th century, gnomes were first mentioned in Alexander Pope's "The Rape of the Lock." These celestial beings were once prudish women and now spend eternity safeguarding their former earthly counterparts, similar to Catholic guardian angels. Though the term "gnome" only gained prominence in the early 19th century when Romanticist authors included them in their fairy tales, it was often used interchangeably with the older term "goblin." This exclusive deck of Bicycle playing cards features a custom design, printed by The United States Playing Card Company and finished with an Air-Cushion finish. With only 2700 decks made, each deck is sealed with a unique number and includes a double back gaff card. The back card pays tribute to the whimsical nature of gnomes, who are deeply connected to nature as depicted in the design. Within the deck, gnomes are portrayed as blacksmiths, archers, prospectors, and even owl riders
